Founded in 1967 as a company specializing in Industrial Process Heat and Control. The Jack Barber Company serves it's principal suppliers as a manufacturer's representative, an authorized distributor and an engineering consultant organzation.
The founder, I.J. "Jack" Barber (1905-1990) had many years experience in the fields of electrical power distribution sales and the industrial radiant process heat industry after graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1926. A well known authority regarding electrical radiant process heat applications in the 50's and 60's he helped to develop the electrical radiant equipment used today in everything from automotive paint drying to railcar ore thawing.
The current owner, John Barber, is a 1965 electrical engineering graduate from Purdue University. He spent over 10 years in the computer electronics industry prior to joining the company in 1975.
Initially based in Clearwater, Florida, the company moved to the current location in Palm Harbor, Florida in 1989 where it continues to offer a broad selection of components and complete systems for electrical processes in packaging, plastics, optical and many other industries.
